It is a joy to experience the unique connections Laurie has developed over her years of immersion in the indigenous culture of Peru. From a walk thru the robust marketplace (which is a pantheon of smells and colors emanating from mounds of flowers and fruits), to displays of beautiful textiles this region is famous for; it is quickly apparent that Laurie has developed deep and personal connections with the local community- elders and youth alike- as they joyfully greet her as a "daughter" and a friend.

We had a wonderful and memorable experience like nothing we have had traveling before. The magic of the land and people of the Sacred Valley was truly amazing, and with Laurie Belle and her Quechua friends guiding us we felt a special kinship wherever we went. Both great fun and a powerful heart opening exploration, so thankful to have been able to take this trip. Also excellent enrichment for our 11 year old, who loved and grew on the journey as we all did. I highly recommend this once in a lifetime opportunity to people of all ages.

Overall, my experience traveling with Laurie was fantastic, and the best analogy I can think of is cultural immersion with "training wheels". Laurie encouraged me to work on my Español whenever possible, but I never felt like my lack of fluency was an issue, it was fun to listen to her drop into a conversational rhythm with the locals. The flow of our travels felt steady, and it was always clear that Laurie were a few steps ahead making that possible. It was also clear that she is in awe of and in love with the culture and lands of Peru, and that attitude kept diffusing into our group :)
